Таксономия цианобактерий: эпоха перемен

До середины 1970-х годов цианобактерий считали водорослями несмотря на то, что отсутствие клеточного ядра (по современным представлениям, один из признаков прокариотов) отличало их от остальных членов этой таксономической группы. Затем, когда бактерии были отождествлены с прокариотами, синезеленые водоросли были переквалифицированы в цианобактерий, и бактериологи начали изучать их культивируемые штаммы микробиологическими методами. Но, поскольку цианобактерии не подчинялись бактериальному кодексу (ICNB), разработка их таксономии, особенно в части номенклатуры, столкнулась с проблемами, которые оставались нерешенными до начала 2010-х годов. Происходящие перемены связаны с общим прогрессом таксономии прокариотов при взрывообразном накоплении данных секвенирования генов 16S рРНК, особенно у некультивируемых объектов. Достижения таксономии цианобактерий в области описания: I) на основе полифазного подхода опубликованы новые таксоны рангом от вида до порядка; II) опубликованы таксоны “темновых” цианобактерий с несколькими типами нефототрофного метаболизма; III) опубликованы таксоны цианобактерий с красно-смещенными хлорофиллами d и f. Достижения в области номенклатуры: IV) таксоны, валидно опубликованные согласно ботаническому кодексу (ICN), впредь считаются таковыми согласно прокариотному кодексу (ICNP); V) в ICNP введен ранг филы, и на основе валидной публикации типового рода Cyanobacterium gen. nov. по правилам ICN легитимировано название филы цианобактерий ‒ Cyanobacteriota; VI) благодаря созданию параллельного кодекса SeqCode, согласно которому номенклатурным типом служит последовательность геномной ДНК, имена некультивируемых таксонов (Сandidatus) могут приобрести номенклатурный статус. Достижения в области классификации: VII) реконструировано эволюционное древо оксигенных фототрофов и их родственников; VIII) создана филогеномная система порядков и семейств; IX) разрабатывается экогеномная классификация, основанная на анализе геномов и данных об их экологическом распространении. Предстоит решить задачу по ограничению таксономической избыточности цианобактерий и продолжить разработку концепции их вида.
