One such alternative may be the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, which has a biotransformation system of chemical compounds similar to the mammalian system. The genotoxicity of the pesticides paraquat and the antibacterial agent furacilin was studied on C. elegans by horizontal gel electrophoresis of total DNA in order to assess its integrity. It has been shown that paraquat in concentrations of 0.01 to 0.05 mol/l and furacilin f in concentrations of 0.0001 and 0.00025 mol/l, caused DNA breaks in nematode cells. The antioxidant N-acetylcysteine at a concentration of 0.01 mol/l reduced the genotoxicity of both compounds.</p>
Антиоксидант N-ацетилцистеин в концентрации 0,01 моль/л снижал генотоксичность обоих соединений.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Caenorhabditis elegans</kwd><kwd>DNA breaks</kwd><kwd>gelelectrophoresis</kwd><kwd>paraquat</kwd><kwd>furacilin</kwd><kwd>N-acetylcysteine</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Caenorhabditis elegans</kwd><kwd>разрывы ДНК</kwd><kwd>гель-электрофорез</kwd><kwd>паракват</kwd><kwd>фурацилин</kwd><kwd>N-ацетилцистеин</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Министерство науки и высшего образования Российской Федерации</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source><award-id>122022600163-7</award-id></award-group></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Russell, W.M.S. , Burch, R.L.
